Ellen Degeneres & Portia De Rossi Invest In Miyoko’s Vegan Dairy

Portia de Rossi and Ellen DeGeneres have invested in plant based vegan brand Miyoko’s Creamery in support of the companies upcoming new products launch in 2020.

“Being kind to one another is not just about people, it extends to animals as well,” DeGeneres said. “Portia and I have been customers of Miyoko’s Creamery for several years now and [its] cheeses and vegan butter have become staples in our home. As we learned more about the mission behind the products and about Miyoko herself, we knew this was a special and exciting company that we wanted to support.”

Recently Miyoko’s began partnering with California dairy farmers to transition them from animal ag to plant based ag and research for new products to be produced in the U.S.

“We are particularly impressed [with its] holistic perspective to the challenge of moving our society away from animal agriculture,” de Rossi said. “[It] understand[s] the big picture—that farmers are part of the solution and require our support to transition away from current practices—it takes this holistic view to transition our world to plant-based diets.”

January of 2020 will see a new line of nut free cheeses from the company including Jack, Cheddar, American and more to be announced alongside a new cultured oat based butter. This is sure to make their investment worth it.

“We have long admired and appreciated how Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi have used their platforms to advocate for a better world,” Schinner said. “With their support, Miyoko’s Creamery will be better equipped to do our part in helping to further this important shared mission.”

The dairy industry continues to collapse year after year with 2,500 farms closing in 2018 alone and now with the closure of Dean Foods the largest dairy producer in the U.S. the future is dairy free and oh so vegan!
