Denny’s jumped on the plant-based vegan burger bandwagon last October at Los Angeles area restaurants where the chain decided to test the Beyond Meat Beyond Burgers at to overwhelming success.
They even gave away free Beyond Burgers as part of a Halloween promotion in the Los Angeles area too so it’s no surprise they’re not only doing it again they are going national across the United States and Canada with a similar campaign.
Starting January 30th Denny’s will offer the popular Beyond Burger at its more than 1,700 locations from the U.S. to Canada. On that same day in celebration of this new plant-based milestone, Denny’s is giving away free Beyond Burgers with the purchase of any beverage at every participating restaurant on the launch day from 11 am to 10 pm while they last.
This makes Denny’s the very first restaurant group in the family dining category to have a 100% plant-based vegan protein option from Beyond Meat on their menu.
The new menu item has more protein, less saturated fat and no cholesterol when compared to the traditional “beef” flesh patties. It’s also soy, gluten, and GMO-free if those things are important to you.
The burger will come with onions, tomatoes, lettuce, pickles, non-vegan American cheese (so order without), on a multigrain bun with an “All-American sauce” that we couldn’t find an ingredient list for but may not be vegan so ask first.
“We were thrilled to be able to answer the call from our guests to add more plant-based protein options to our menu when we launched the Beyond Burger in Los Angeles at the end of last year. The positive response we received validated our decision to partner with Beyond Meat to introduce our guests to a plant-based option,” said John Dillon, chief brand officer for Denny’s.
“We could not be more excited to add the Beyond Burger to our permanent lineup of delicious, affordable menu options as we continue to innovate and expand our menu to meet evolving dietary preferences.”
“Partnering with Denny’s has been a big step in increasing offerings for those looking to introduce plant-based protein into their diets or for alternative choices at their favorite restaurants,” said Tim Smith, Beyond Meat’s VP of North America Sales, Foodservice.
“We’re delighted to expand our partnership with the iconic diner and provide another option that offers the taste you know and love with a burger but has the nutritional and environmental benefits of plant-based protein.”
