Starting on March 4th this spring the plant-based vegan cheese company Miyoko’s Creamery will set out on a journey in their food truck across the United States.
Miyoko’s will be using the food truck tour to promote the brand’s new plant-based vegan cheddar and pepper-jack cheeses that are nut-free while being made from oats, potatoes, and legumes.
These new cheeses were developed on the dairy farms Miyoko’s purchased last year that were failing. The company and the failing farms came to an arrangement that allowed them to grow and experiment with new plant-based cheeses.
They will also be using and promoting their new cultured oat-based vegan butter as they grill up delicious grilled cheese sandwiches from coast to coast.
Miyoko’s estimates that they will be giving away around 15,000 free plant-based vegan grilled cheese sandwiches made from their new cheese and butter products.
The tour will start at this year’s Natural Products Expo West in Anaheim California with 17 stops in major cities scheduled including Los Angeles, CA; Oakland, CA; San Francisco, CA; Portland, OR; Seattle, WA; Boise, ID; Denver, CO; Austin, TX; New Orleans, LA; Atlanta, GA; Washington DC; Philadelphia, PA; New York, NY; Boston, MA; Cincinnati, OH; Chicago, IL; and Minneapolis, MN.
“We believe our new cheddar and pepper jack are game-changing and will do for cheese what Beyond and Impossible did for burgers by expanding the audience for vegan cheese to omnivores and flexitarians,” Miyoko Schinner, CEO of Miyoko’s Creamery said
“What better way to prove that than by allowing people to taste the product first-hand—our Grilled Cheese Nation food truck tour is a fun way to get that done while building excitement and anticipation for our April product launch.” Schinner continued.
Back in December of 2019, Miyoko’s shocked hundreds of people when they revealed that their pop-up restaurant serving grilled cheese sandwiches in the San Francisco bay area was in fact made with the company’s plant-based vegan cheeses and butter.
This summer in June Miyoko’s Creamery will be launching the new oat-based cultured vegan butter in garlic parmesan and sea salt flavors. The cheeses will be launched as allergy-friendly cheese blocks, slices, and shreds.
